SharePoint, Teams & migration: find, share, protect.
KAMBIOZ structures SharePoint Online and Teams to improve discoverability, make access rights more understandable and manage migration risks. Architecture, governance, migration, adoption: a named delivery lead and clear remote working arrangements.
Your situations
Sound familiar?
These signals almost always show up before a SharePoint or Teams project.
- Nobody knows where the latest version of a document is.
- SharePoint sites and Teams workspaces have multiplied with no owner and no end-of-life rule.
- Permissions were granted along the way: who has access to what?
- You need to migrate file shares, an old SharePoint or another tenant without stopping the business.
- You are preparing a Copilot rollout and want a healthy environment first.
How we help
Each mission is split into clear deliverables: you can start with an audit or run the project end to end.
Four ways
to work together.
- 01
Audit and diagnosis
Inventory of the existing environment: sites, teams, volumes, permissions, external sharing, obsolete content. Prioritised findings, with risks and quick wins.
- 02
Architecture and governance
Site and hub structure, permission model, naming conventions, creation rules, owners and lifecycle of Teams and SharePoint spaces.
- 03
Document migration
Inventory, clean-up, wave-based cutover plan, migration (file shares, existing SharePoint, another tenant), checks before and after, permission carry-over.
- 04
Adoption and handover
Short guides, workshops with the teams, training of administrators and site owners so the organisation holds over time.
What you receive
Deliverables,
not intentions.
Everything is documented so your teams can take over.
Typical deliverables
- Audit report with a map of sites, teams and access risks
- Target architecture and governance model (roles, rules, lifecycle)
- Wave-based migration plan, with validation criteria and rollback plan
- Post-migration control report
- Operating documentation and onboarding material
Migration tools are chosen according to the source, the volumes and the expected level of fidelity. Legacy SharePoint workflows and components being retired by Microsoft are identified during the audit.
FAQ
SharePoint & migration
What is the difference between SharePoint and Teams?
Teams is the conversation and meeting space; a team’s files are stored in SharePoint. A good architecture therefore first decides where each document lives, then how teams access it.
Does a migration mean stopping business activity?
Not necessarily. A wave-based migration, with a sync of changes before cutover, limits the interruption to a short window planned with the teams concerned.
Do we need to migrate everything?
Rarely. The audit exists precisely to separate what is useful, what can be archived and what can disappear. Migrating less also reduces project cost and access risk.
How do we stop the mess from coming back?
With simple, enforced rules: one owner per space, creation templates, periodic access reviews and an end-of-life rule. We define these rules with the relevant owners and help put them into practice.
Can Copilot readiness be handled at the same time?
Yes, it is the ideal moment: the review of permissions and content carried out for the migration is the same one that precedes a Copilot rollout. See Copilot readiness.
